About the Role
We are seeking a Junior Engineer to join our growing Data Centre team. This role is ideal for a driven engineering graduate with 2–4 years of experience who is eager to develop their skills in a dynamic and high-performance environment. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the operational efficiency, reliability, and scalability of our data center infrastructure.
As a Junior Engineer, you will work across electrical, mechanical, and systems domains to support daily operations and long-term infrastructure initiatives. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless system integration and continuous uptime in a mission-critical facility.
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Technical Support and Maintenance
- Monitor and maintain data center infrastructure including power, cooling, network, and storage systems.
- Assist in troubleshooting hardware and system failures, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.
- Support the deployment, installation, and storage systems.
2. System Monitoring and Optimization
- Use diagnostic tools to proactively identify performance issues.
- Participate in capacity planning and performance tuning to ensure infrastructure scalability and reliability.
- Support disaster recovery planning and system backup operations.
3. Security and Compliance
- Support compliance efforts with standards like ISO 27001, SOC 2, and GDPR.
4. Documentation and Collaboration
- Maintain accurate documentation of systems, procedures, and incident responses.
- Collaborate with teams from IT, security, and facilities to support seamless data center operations.
- Communicate technical issues and updates clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, or related field).
- 2–4 years of experience in data center or infrastructure engineering roles.
- Solid understanding of:
- Data center infrastructure systems (power, cooling, networking, storage).
- Server and storage technologies (SAN, NAS, cloud storage).
- HVAC and power systems (UPS, generators, electrical cabling).
- Experience with monitoring and automation tools
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and documentation abilities.
- Willingness to learn, adapt, and grow in a fast-paced technical environment.
