A strategic step to support enterprise connectivity and edge-to-cloud deployment options in East Africa.
iXAfrica Data Centres is pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Zenlayer at Capacity Middle East (CME) in Dubai, marking the start of a collaboration focused on strengthening digital infrastructure options for customers operating in and expanding into East Africa.
As organisations accelerate cloud adoption, AI workloads, and latency-sensitive services, the region’s demand for high-performance, resilient infrastructure continues to grow. This MoU reflects a shared intent by iXAfrica and Zenlayer to explore opportunities that enhance how global and regional customers connect, deploy, and scale across key markets.
What the MoU sets out to explore
Under this MoU, iXAfrica and Zenlayer intend to collaborate around:
- Improving connectivity and interconnection options to support enterprise and platform requirements
- Deployment optionality leveraging iXAfrica’s data centre infrastructure in Nairobi and Zenlayer’s edge cloud and connectivity platform
- Supporting customer use cases such as East Africa market entry, hybrid architectures, cloud connectivity, and performance-sensitive workloads.
This collaboration is designed to support customers who need infrastructure that can meet modern requirements, speed, reliability, and scalability while enabling a clear path to growth in East Africa’s fast-evolving digital economy.
Why this matters now
Across the continent, organisations are moving from experimentation to execution—deploying cloud-native systems, expanding digital services, and building data-driven operations. The infrastructure decisions made today determine how quickly businesses can innovate tomorrow.
By deepening ecosystem partnerships like this one, iXAfrica continues to support the development of local, trusted digital capacity that helps enterprises build with confidence in the region.
We welcome conversations with cloud platforms, ISPs, systems integrators, and enterprises building in East Africa. Contact iXAfrica Data Centres to collaborate. sales@ixafrica.co.ke
